What are the minimum & maximum amounts I can borrow?
The minimum application is £100,000 – there is no maximum.

Can I get a grant from the Fund?
Yes, grants are available subject to compliance with state aid regulations towards complimentary research and development and training and skills development which support the project for which funding is being requested. Applicants also need to demonstrate the additional nature of the activity and that the outcomes could not be achieved in the absence of support. 

What is the expected length of a project / loan and over what time frame can the funding be drawn down?
Expenditure on the project needs to be completed by 31st March 2019.

Is this Fund competition based?
No – funds are available on a first come first served basis and are assessed on a monthly basis by an independent Investment Board.

What size of businesses can apply?
SMEs, mid-sized businesses and large companies within an assisted area.

What type of businesses can apply?
Supply Chain businesses operating within the Automotive and Aerospace sectors.

Are there any geographical restrictions?
The fund operates within the 4 LEP regions – Black Country, Coventry and Warwickshire, Greater Birmingham and Solihull and Liverpool City Region. 90% of the work must be completed in these areas.

How quickly can my application for funding be processed?
AMSCI WMLCR is a rolling programme with a monthly Investment Board. Application submission dates and Investment Board dates are available on the Finance Birmingham website

What is the main scope requirement of the Fund?
The aim of this Programme is to create more competitive supply chains that anchor high value added work in the automotive and aerospace supply chains across the West Midlands and Liverpool City Region, attract new customers to existing supply chain companies, sustain or create new employment opportunities and create better synergies and sustained collaborative relationships throughout supply chains that participate in this Initiative.

How much of the required project funding can I apply for?
The amount of funding request is related to the requirements of the company to ensure that a project moves ahead. Applicants will need to demonstrate market failure and that in the absence of funding/support that the project will not happen.
