AMSCI

AMSCI funded SME - A C Marine & Composites - has been making the headlines in the tidal sector of late. Not only responsible for manufacturing the rotor blades for Atlantis’ AR1500 tidal turbine, which was launched off the coast of Scotland in 2017, but also manufactured composite struts for the Swedish tidal developer - Minesto.

A C Marine & Composites secured investment from the Advanced Manufacturing Supply Chain Initiative back in 2016 to support the volume production of composite tidal turbine blades and to supply an order to Atlantis Resource Ltd. It is an industry leader in the manufacture of composite components based in a new 22,000 sq ft production facility on the south coast of England. The workshop gives the experienced team the versatility to build on traditional methods, ensuring they create solutions with the precision.

Alex Newton, Director at A C Marine & Composites said about the Atlantis prooject:

“This project has been significant for us, and has provided a platform for the future of ACM&C by enabling us to purchase purpose-built machinery and further strengthen our supplier relationships. Our workspace now contains industry-leading composite machinery for the rapid manufacture of resin infused and pre-preg composite components. We look forward to continuing to support Atlantis with what promises to be a groundbreaking project.”
